

Under the guidance of Sue Dooley, several Venture Crew members pitched in to help. Twenty-nine parents, and staff provided "Flat Stanley" cookies for decorating and helped out with the activities. Second grade teacher Cyndi Shost created a 10-minute collage of these photos which was shown that evening along with a display of family projects.Ĭommunity involvement was a big part of the evening, with Kindergarten parent Roy Fletcher, Manager at Domino's Pizza in Durham donating 60 pizzas, the Lilac Mall Hannaford supplying juice, and Berry Surveying and Engineering providing the Flat Stanley poster board figures and postcards.


Over the summer families did various projects and activities with a Flat Stanley figure, even sending pictures to a school e-mail account. Last June, each family was given a reading packet with the book "Flat Stanley" by Marc Brown. FARMINGTON - There were no flat notes on the evening of October 3 when Valley View Community School staff members, and the families of students from Kindergarten to Fourth Grade came together to share their Flat Stanley summer reading projects and have some adventures of their own.
